Green lines are for Mot, Ness, Matt and Si (with special guest Kate).
Red lines are for Mot and Ness.

    and watching Matt and Si's tent get rained on.

    We accidentally walked through the fortified diamond
    district after dusk, and found several cool bars.

    It rained on us, our tent, and our stuff.
    Thus it wasn't terribly exciting.

    The Netherlands redeemed itself with an amazing campsite
    and adjacent forest. The campsite was also signposted
    from every possible direction, so points for that.

    If we'd been a day later, we'd have caught
    the light festival in this student town.

    Magdeburg, Germany
    So incredibly quiet. On the plus side,
    it was home to the Max Planck Institute.

    Sweet, sweet Berlin. We stayed five nights,
    we could have stayed fifty.

    Three days in Vienna and somehow we avoided having a
    Wiener Schnitzel. Sheer madness.

    hostel. Definitely returning.

    A brief overnight stop at a real, actual hotel
    (albeit a budget one). Everyone passes out with excitement
    at prospect of fluffy towels.

    Everyone passes out again on discovering that
    our apartment in Rome is both huge, involves marble
    and has a balcony overlooking a typically
    chaotic/mesmerising road intersection.

    Really quite beautiful. The view from Piazza Michaelangelo
    at sunset would win anyone over.

    Everybody's camping under olive trees
    and ready to walk the Cinque Terra.
    We're also ready for olive fights.
